Mr. James E. Krause has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, ranging from architecture to general construction, to construction law. As a former general contractor and designer, he has thorough background knowledge of many areas of construction disputes from years of field experience.

Mr. Krause spent 4 years in Washington D.C. as the Senior Director of the Federal & Heavy Construction Division at the AGC, where he was the primary liaison to the Federal construction agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC, VA, and GSA.  In 2003 Mr. Krause moved to Jacksonville where he was the primary liaison to the Federal construction agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, the Veterans Administration, and the General Services Administration.

While Mr. Krause represents Federal contractors in all of the courts in DC, he began his sole practice in 2008 and has since where he assists Contractors with Federal and Commercial Contract issues, including: Bid Protests, Claims, Small Business Matters, Federal Set-Asides, and Joint Venture/Teaming Arrangements. Mr. Krause also hosts the Federal Contractors’ Forum where contractors and contracting officers can meet in a neutral setting to discuss current events.

Mr. Krause has been an aggressive advocate on contract issues for the Federal Contractors. He has testified before the FAR Council in support of Federal Contractors. He has provided numerous lectures and presentations on contracting issues to such groups as the National Contract Managers Association, Southeast Builders Conference, AGC’s National Convention, the Defense Acquisition University, the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, the Corps of Engineers, the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, and most other Federal Contracting and Construction Agencies. He has also written articles and books on numerous topics, including contracts, design build, Federal source selection, and performance evaluations.

Mr. Krause practices Federal Contract Law full time in Jacksonville for both local and national contractors, and continues to provide lectures and seminars to Federal Contractors.

In his free time, Jim spends time with his wife, Nancy and daughter, Katrina; golfs; commits acts of home improvement; makes the best chili in Florida; and loves to travel.
